Default The Beauty of Factions

Well I have completed the Factions campaign with all 6 of my characters. I have now taken the time to explore since I no longer have gate stoppage issues.

WOW now that the 12v12 and Elite mission accsess anger is subsideing what a beautiful game world Factions is. The attention to detail is outstanding in many respects. From valleys, extinct riverbeds, waterfalls, and stone mushrooms, to city harbors and slums the beauty is breathtaking. Thank you Anet for such a beautiful game. I hate to say it but even the slum areas are very incredible to view. You get the overall feeling of something terrible has happened there in the slums when this was once a vibrant bustling cityscape. No complaints here for overall viewage. A+ in the visuals Anet!

If you have an area you would like to post a picture of please post it to show the beauty of Factions. As for me I have to many screenshots to show and would not know where to begin.

I personally liked the detail put into this dock I saw with all the equipment to lower it into the water, but I noticed in one area the sludge wasn't falling down it was just frozen....

I think anet focused too much on graphics and not enough on gameplay, if you wanna see some breathtaking stuff *google image search : waterfall, mountain, Tibet, etc*, but if you want good gameplay, you can't just google it or whatever, graphics are nice and all but are they fun? Not really. I hope they fire the people who worked on factions or I'll just buy the odd chapters (1, 3, 5, etc)

I didn't get to enjoy a lot of the detail on the missions, due to the fact that we're "put on the clock". I'm doing a lot of quests now, and I can now enjoy some of the landscapes, especially south of House zu Heltzer....

"especially south of House zu Heltzer...." -- and they seem to get more beautiful the farther south you go. Mourning Veil Falls has some incredible vistas.

I admire the graphical detail thats been put into factions, my favourite places are the two lakes in Mount Qinkai, and ofcourse, Shing Jea Island =) But i do miss the massive explorable area's which you could get lost in and then come across this nice little bit of scenery, like a waterfall or a Balthazaar statue etc.

I agree about the beauty. I hadn't used a game screenshot for a desktop background for years until I started playing Factions. (Shing Jea island with the blossoming cherry trees and temple in the background)

RED ENGINE GO is the censorship here. And, that's some humorus unintentional censorship, too. :P

Welcome back.

along with what you said though... I particularly enjoyed anet's use of the vertical when making cantha. Hills and valleys add a great deal of needed variety to the landscape.

When Factions was released, I noticed the sludge falling down nicely. But then, there was a patch and it kinda stopped moving, so it could be intentional perhaps to relieve the stress on low-end systems.

Every time I pass a shrine or monastery I have to stop and stare for a while. I'd light a brazier or stick of incence if the game would let me. lol

Now if only I could figgure out how to decorate my office in that beautiful red wood and stone...

When I first read the title, I thought it said "Beauty of FRACTIONS" lol. Thankfully this isn't a maths class

Yeah, Factions is awesome, and I can't wait to play 12vs12 sometime soon
